If we got it wrong

Quote the line you think is wrong and say what it should say instead. That is enough. The editorial policy sets out what happens next, including when a correction gets a visible note.

Response times

Most messages get an answer within two working days. Longer questions take longer, and when something needs checking before we can give a straight answer we would rather be slow than wrong.

What we cannot do

We cannot recover an account for you, act as a go between with a third party service, or give advice tailored to your personal circumstances. Eski Tarih publishes general information about tarih ve eski uygarlıklar, and the legal notice explains where that line sits.

What to include

We answer specific questions much faster than general ones, so it is worth a minute of extra typing.

1. The question first. We read the first two lines properly and skim the rest, which is honest rather than rude.
2. The page address, if there is one. Describing an article is much slower than pasting its link.
3. What you saw and what you expected. Those two together solve most of what arrives in the inbox.

Commercial enquiries

Write to the same address. We answer commercial enquiries slowly and decline most of them, which is worth knowing before you spend time on a proposal.
